Samsung Galaxy On7 review

Galaxy On7 was officially launched on November of 2016. Galaxy On7 runs Android OS v5.1 (Lollipop). This device is really budget friendly when we are considering the inbuilt functionalities and competitive features. On7 is very strong with a Quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex A-53 CPU and 1.5GB RAM. It contains Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset and Adreno 306 graphical processing unit. It carries 8GB of internal memory capacity and it can be operated with a SD card, expandable up to 128GB. Primary camera sensor is 13MP with 1080p recording at 30 fps (frames per second) and secondary is 5MP. Display is TFT Capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. On7 can be used with 4G LTE networks.

On7 has a display with a pixel resolution of 1280 x 720. 5.5-inch TFT display carries a pixel density approximately 268 PPI. Screen is very bright, sharp and has some good standards with the viewing angles. It gives a smooth color output increase the visibility at the day light. Compared to the Super AMOLED displays On7 have several cons. But basically the display is fine.

On the top right side of the screenyou will see the 5-megapixel front camera consist of f/2.2 aperture, this allows you to acquire more room or more space capacity to capture selfies within a wide area of 120-degree panorama. You will be able to accommodate more friends when you are taking selfies. Depending on the lighting conditions, images from the front camera can be blurred or low detailed. Make sure that there is sufficient light to use the front camera when you are capturing images.

This device is missing the ambient light sensor and it also short with a notification LED. So, you should manually customize the brightness from the slider menu regarding different lighting levels. In-built outdoor mode option will help you to increase the brightness for 15 minutes or to customize to hold increased brightness until you lock the screen.

Home button of this device is designed with a metal lining and capacitive menu and back buttons are placed on the both sides of Home button. Back light is not presented in this device. You will not be able to get haptic feedbacks for the touch interactions.

You can see the power button on the right side wall of On7 and this smartphone is 8.2mm thick. On7 exceeds the thickness of Samsung galaxy J7 and galaxy E7. Volume buttons are presented on the left side wall. Microphone, micro USB port and 3.5mm audio port can be seen on the bottom wall.

Primary Camera.

When we are looking at the 13-megapixel autofocus primary camera, it consist of f/2.1 good aperture to capture better snaps.  Camera interface is not different than other Android Lollipop OS based devices. There are several predefined capturing modes that make you to customize the camera easily with different settings.  You can also use the home button to launch the camera app, simply press the Home button twice. The only sad thing is, you are not able to capture High Definition (HD) captures.

Image quality is at an acceptable level in the daylight, but there is a small delay when focusing the camera. Images captured in the low light are slightly affected with some noise and low detailed conditions. But they are not bad at all.

You will be able to record 1080p videos in full HD ratio at 30fps. Video quality is not bad, it offers vibrant colors, smooth and sharp footage. But the audio quality is not acceptable since it doesn’t have a secondary microphone for noise cancellation.

Software.

Android v5.1. (Lollipop) official user interfaces can be seen on this device, it has no difference between On7 and other recent smartphones with Lollipop. Lock screen will indicate weather updates (that can be customized) and it will help you to easily navigate to dialer app or camera. Drop-down slider menu contains several toggling options for you to customize your device’s settings easily and quickly. Brightness slider is developed attaching an enable button to switch the outdoor mode.

Manufacturer’s Smart Manager app will assist you to manage and control battery life, RAM usage and other several functions easily and it will help you to maintain your device at optimum conditions.
